Join the community science movement for climate action
What Works Climate Solutions has launched the What Works Crowd, a community science initiative developed in collaboration with Cochrane.
The crowd invites researchers, practitioners, and the public to contribute directly to the evidence base around which climate policies work, why they do, how and for whom.
The latest task, Human Adaptation Responses to Climate Change, supports the Global Adaptation Mapping Initiative (GAMI) building the largest evidence repository on adaptation to date by identifying records that describe how people are adapting to climate hazards, risks, vulnerabilities, and exposures. A collective global effort, GAMI aims to systematically gather and synthesize literature on climate change adaptation. To join the Crowd, no prior experience is required and full training is provided.
Early interest has been strong, especially through the GAMI network. WWCS sees the Crowd as a way to build both capacity and a community around evidence synthesis, while accelerating the critical research that informs climate policy and practice.
