Key messages:

  • Rigorous instrument evaluations are critical to support effective, efficient and equitable evidence-based climate policies.
  • Climate policy evaluations can help us to understand what climate solutions work, under what conditions and why and enable accelerated learning in science and policy.
  • The climate crisis is a crisis of inequality. Solving the climate crisis without addressing these inequalities is doomed to fail.
